You can delete your account at any time. The deletion happens straight away and can't be undone. If you want a copy of your data, download it first; see Download and delete your data.

How to delete your account

  1. Log in and go to My profile, Settings.
  2. Choose Delete account at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Choose Delete my account.
  4. Read the list in the Delete your account? box.
  5. Type DELETE in the field and choose Delete account permanently.
  6. It says Your account has been deleted. Choose Go to the homepage.

What is deleted

  • Your details: first name, country, language and your email.
  • Your reviews: They're removed from the companies' profiles and no longer count towards the SaysScore. The text, headline, images and translations are deleted.
  • Replies to your reviews: The companies' replies are deleted along with the review.
  • Your helpful votes: If you've marked other people's reviews as helpful, the votes are withdrawn.
  • The rest of the account: companies you follow, notifications, email choices, your login, two-step verification, data exports and any newsletter subscription.
  • Teams: If you're in a company's team, you're removed from it.
  • Logins: You're logged out on all devices.

What is kept

  • Decisions and appeals: If we've held back or removed one of your reviews and you've appealed, we keep the decision and the appeal. This is required by the Digital Services Act (DSA). They're linked to an account without a name or email.
  • Reports: If you've reported a review, the report remains, but with no link to you.

If you own a company

If you're the only owner of a company on TrustSays, you can't delete your account. You get the message You're the only owner of a business account. Transfer it before you delete your account. Make a colleague owner under Settings, Team and roles in the dashboard, and try again.

After deletion

If you had a public profile, the link now shows This profile no longer exists. If you log in again with the same email, you get a new, empty account. The old reviews don't come back.

If the Delete account permanently button is grey, the word doesn't match. Type DELETE in capital letters.
