The API has limits, so it runs reliably for everyone.

Limits

  • POST /v1/orders: up to 600 calls a minute.
  • Orders from Shopify and WooCommerce: up to 600 a minute.
  • Public calls for score and reviews: responses are cached for up to 60 seconds. Don't fetch more often than necessary.
  • The month's invitations follow your plan: 50 on Free, 500 on Start, 5,000 on Growth and unlimited on Partner.

The limits are counted per IP address. The calls field in the dashboard under API and webhooks doesn't show figures yet.

Errors

Errors come as JSON with a title that explains the error.

  • 400: The body isn't valid JSON, or a field is missing or wrong.
  • 401 Invalid signature: The key, the signature or the headers don't match.
  • 401 The timestamp is too old: The call is more than 5 minutes old.
  • 403: The key doesn't have access to orders.
  • 404: The company doesn't exist.
  • 429: Too many calls. Wait a little and try again.

Good advice

  • Retry with a pause on 429 and on server errors. The same order twice does no harm; it's just updated.
  • Don't store the API key in the code, but in the server's environment variables.
  • See whether the API is running normally on System status.
